Feb 14 – Mar 15 – 2025 I will be exhibiting at Galerie Pi, Borgergade 15 D, 1300 Copenhagen K with stoneware sculpture, several of the sculptures are scetches and variations on The Meeting; a public sculpture project where two mythical creatures meet on a stepped granite pedestal, which will be installed at Sortedams Dosering in summer 2025. There will also be two lamps carried by acrobatic mythical creature groups in stoneware. Inspired by Royal Copenhagen’s bear glaze and other of their classic stoneware glazes, I have worked with glazes that I mix and develop myself, based on, among other things, Finn Lynggaard’s glazes from his book on ceramics. It is the semi-matte and metallic glæsuras that interest me. An eye-opener for me was when, almost 30 years ago, I saw one of the citizens of Calais made of glazed stoneware in the garden of the Rodin Museum in Meudon, which from a distance resembled bronze, woven into a vivid, naturally uneven pattern, and which when you got close was even richer in color and texture, giving the sculpture an aura of timelessness. These are the thoughts I have when I work with my glazes. I have previously worked with and researched the patination of bronze, and in stoneware glazes the texture can take on an even greater richness. The exhibition also shows paintings by the German artist Karin Ohlsen Galerie Pi Borgergade 15 D 1300 Kbh K
